Activities offered in the various tours include rafting, kayaking, trekking, rock climbing, mountain biking, cycling, caving and river trips. Green Discovery also organises guided motorbike trips, wildlife watching tours and caravan holidays. Besides the pre-organised tours, the company also offers customised guided and self-guided programmes. Besides Vientiane, Green Discovery has offices in other parts of Laos including Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang, Luang Namtha, Pakse and Thakhek.

Beginning of January 2010, Green Discovery opened its first zip-lining park in Nam Lik (just two hours away from Vientiane). Zip-lining gives you the feel of freedom while whooshing you from tree to tree along steel wires up to 37 metres high and 180 metres in length! Scaling the dizzying heights on ropes, giant nets, sling or U-bridges and getting back to earth through "abseiling" adds to the extraordinary excitement.

Bicycle Touring
Tours start at the parking lot of Khong View Restaurant.
Vientiane ByCycle (www.vientianebycycle.com) offers awesome guided bicycle tours through and around Vientiane. They take you off the beaten track to places where you usually wouldn't go. The route travels along villages, temples, school yards, banks of the Mekong River, crematoria, markets and local businesses. They have excellent quality mountain bikes.

Picnicking on the Shores of Nam Ngum Lake
About 90 km from Vientiane.
A local favourite with floating restaurants located along the lake shore - their specialty is fish fresh from the lake. Cruises among the lake's islands can be booked here, which makes for a relaxing couple of hours. Just inquire at your guest house, hotel or any travel agency (where they will try to sell their tours).

Muay Lao (Kickboxing)
Kuanjai Sikhot Boxing Gym,
Ban Sikhot (about 2 km west of Vientiane Airport and behind the Sekhai Market).
A national sport of Laos and similar to Muay Thai (Thai kick boxing). Foreigners are welcome here to learn Muay Lao but this place is not a tourist trap like many gyms in Thailand. It is a small gym and family-operated. Training is extremely technical, coaching experienced fighters as well as inexperienced newbies.
