Sungai Lembing
ungai Lembing town is where once one of the world's largest underground tin mines (closed since 1985) was situated. The town is located on the banks of Sungai Lembing (Lembing River) about 40 km northwest of Kuantan. You can get here by bus, taxi or car. Since the mine's closure, most of the residents have left the town and has been on a decline ever since.

There is an interesting museum with lots of information about tin mining in the area. The museum is housed in the former residence of the manager of the tin mining company. There is an interesting "hanging bridge" located north of the museum. A popular activity here is the trek up Bukit Panorama (Panorama Hill) for a magnificent view of the natural surroundings especially during sunrise.

Pandan River Forest Reserve
The 50 hectare Hutan Lipur Sungai Pandan (Pandan River Forest Reserve) is located about 20 km from Kuantan, on the Kuantan-Gambang Road (near the Royal Malaysian Air Force airbase). Entrance fee into the forest reserve is MYR1 for adults 50 sen for children. Though small in area, the reserve is covered in lush tropical greenery and home to several migratory and exotic birds. Within the reserve is the Berkelah Falls with water cascading seven levels over a height of 100 metres before plunging into a clear water pool. The reserve is popular with trekkers and facilities include changing rooms, toilets, shower rooms, picnic spots, shelters and camp area.

State Mosque
The Sultan Ahmad Shah State Mosque State Mosque is situated in the heart of Kuantan along Jalan Haji Abdul Aziz (Haji Abdul Aziz Road). It is hard to miss the mosque when travelling through Kuantan's city centre. The mosque was constructed in 1993 and major features include its magnificent blue domes and towering four white minarets. The interior is beautifully decorated with marble and stained glass windows.
