Port Dickson, Malaysia

Beaches & Sea Activities
There are several beaches located along the coast of Port Dickson. However, the waters here are not crystal clear or on par with the better beaches found on Langkawi Island. Nevertheless, Port Dickson is the nearest beach destination for residents living in the Klang Valley, which includes Kuala Lumpur. The main beach areas are often crowded on weekends and public holidays (though not in weekdays) but less so where the major hotels are located.

Water sports available include water-skiing, canoeing, snorkeling and wind surfing. Ask your hotel reception whether such facilities are available or to make arrangements. If you enjoy sailing, arrange to have temporary membership at the Yacht Club. Another activity is fishing but due to pollution and development, the fish stocks in Port Dickson have severely depleted. Fishing is best done in a boat or in the "kelong", a wooden platform in the sea. Beach fishing is not recommended unless your are looking for catfish.

Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon is about 15 km from Port Dickson's town centre. The area provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding greenery and the blue open sea as well as having fun in the sun. The lagoon is one of the better spots for swimming, boating, wind surfing and water skiing. Accommodation is easily available as many hotels and resorts are located here.
