Tourism
The town is the main tourist destinations in Negeri Sembilan, popular with both Malaysian and foreign tourists especially visitors from Asia. A major reason is Port Dickson has the only beach in Negeri Sembilan complemented with a range of accommodation, variety of eateries and leisure activities including golf. The beach here stretches southward for about 15 km from the edge of the town to Tanjung Tuan. Port Dickson is also known as an "army town", home to several Malaysian army camps and training centres.

Back in the 1990s, Port Dickson went through a boom in construction of new hotels and resorts. However, some of these projects were never completed and several unfinished constructions can be seen along the road parallel to the beach. However, with a growing economy and increasing tourism in Malaysia, several projects have been revived. Furthermore, many Singaporeans have invested in holiday homes in and around Port Dickson.
