Bugis, Singapore

Bugis today has a reputation as a popular destination for shopping rather than eating out. Though there are no shortages of options for places to eat and food here are in general reasonably priced. However, Bugis is definitely not the place for culinary experience. Briefly, if you happen to be in Bugis and your stomach begins to feel a little peckish, go ahead and eat here, there are plenty of restaurants, food courts and street stalls to choose.

Bugis Junction
The Bugis Junction shopping mall stands out as the best place to eat in Bugis. There is a range of cheap eateries as well as fancy restaurants offering American, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indonesian and Chinese dishes. Restaurant and cafe chains Starbucks, Swensen's and Nandos are also located here. For cheap eats, go to the basement but the Food Junction food court on the third floor stands out as the best.

Bugis Street
Alternatively you can go to Bugis Street, located just a short walk from Bugis Junction. There is a food court here offering cheap food as well as a multitude of street stalls offering a variety of foods and drinks. The food court serves mainly local style but typically Chinese dishes. For Muslims, there are a few stalls located at a corner serving halal foods.
