There are plenty of trendy restaurants and upscale cafes in Singapore's Marina Bay but little in the way of cheap eats - there are no hawker centres here. If on a budget and prefer something Western in the Marina Bay area, then head to the Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut and McDonald's outlets at the major shopping malls namely at Suntec City Mall and Marina Square. For local dishes without bursting your wallet, then head to the food court at Marina Square. If you have money to spend and want a good range of upscale dining options than Marina Bay area is definitely the place to be!

The restaurants and cafes at Marina Bay Sands are among the most expensive in Singapore but there never seems to be any shortage of patrons. Big names here include Daniel Boulud, Mario Batali, Wolfgang Puck, Santi Santamaria, Guy Savoy and Tetsuya Wakuda. Sky@57 is a modern Asian restaurant by celebrity chef Justin Quek and offers some of the best views of Singapore. A three-course lunch cost around SGD50 and a four-course cost SGD60). Outdoor dining is also available but access to the SkyPark is not included and need to buy a separate ticket. Muslims searching for Chinese food, the 1983 restaurant is certified halal.

There is an abundance of cafes and restaurants at Marina Square ranging from the casual family restaurants to more upscale establishments. Prices at are more down to earth here compared to Marina Bay Sands but without the exclusive dining experience. Besides the local and Western fare, there are also a number of Japanese and Thai restaurants. For all you can eat, there is the Pariss International Seafood Buffet. The Gallerie Food Court is located on the fourth floor and offers regional Asian dishes.

Suntec City Mall

Suntec City Mall is another good destination for eating in the Marina Bay area. There is an extensive range of establishments and prices are also down to earth but no cheap eats here. There are plenty of Asian restaurants here including Japanese, Korean, Indian, Turkish, Thai, Indonesian and Vietnamese. Western fast food restaurants include Burger King, Subway and KFC. The Fountain Food Terrace (food court located near the Fountain of Wealth) comprises of 28 stalls serving a delicious range of Western and Asian dishes.
