Rattanakosin (Bangkok) One Day Tour

Evening Tour
Khao San Road is the backpackers mecca of the city while locals come here for a good night out. To get here from
Santichaiprakarn Park, walk to Phra Athit and take a left to Soi Chana Songkhram. You can get a Thai massage around here or buy some clothes or books. When you walked through Soi Rammbutri, take a right and make a short walk along Chakra Bongse Road. On the right side is Wat Chana Songhkram and be careful when crossing the street to Khao San Road.

Khao San Road by Quince Blits

Khao San Road is a great place for cheap eats. One of the best medium-priced restaurants in the area is Tom Yum Kung Restaurant. It looks sleazy judging from the big neon sign outside but it's "square" and actually very classy in traditional Thai style. An obvious treat here is Tom Yum Goong and try some of their magnificent seafood. If you're on a budget, just go to one of the carts selling Pad Thai for 50 baht. Locals come to Khao San Road just for it's nightlife besides the foods.

You can sit outside in one of the numerous sidewalk cafes. A good place for meeting up with friends or socialising and having a conversation. Khao San Road is a great place for just watching people go by. Getting back to Sukhumvit or Silom at night from Khao San Road is a bit of a pickle. Your best bet is to take a metered taxi or the tuk-tuks.
