U-Tapao Airport
U-Tapao Airport (, often known inaccurately as "Pattaya Airport", is just off the main Sattahip-Chanthaburi (Sukhumvit) Highway about 30 km south of Pattaya. Primarily a military facility, it only handles a handful of schedule commercial flights to and from Koh Samui and Phuket but no flights between Bangkok.
U-Tapao also handles charter flights between cities in Japan, Korea, Mainland China, Taiwan, Cambodia and Eastern Europe.

Save on your hotel -

The easiest way to transfer between U-Tapao and Pattaya is by direct door-to-door minibus service. Driving time is about 30 minutes and the fare is 200-250 baht per person. Metered taxi costs around 750 baht including expressway tolls. There are no other forms of direct transport between U-Tapao and Pattaya.

Suvarnabhumi Airport
Suvarnabhumi Airport ( is Bangkok's as well as Thailand's main airport handling flights from around the world. Only 110 km from Pattaya (40 km closer than Don Muang), transfers by road are inexpensive and quick (80-120 minutes).

  • Taxis are a fairly inexpensive and fares from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya should be negotiated with the driver in advance - the usual rate is around 1,500 baht and should be confirmed before leaving the taxi rank. Passengers are expected to pay the two expressway tolls at 30 baht each. Beware that non-licenced taxis may try to solicit business from you at the airport.
  • It is possible to arrange with most hotels in Pattaya for a taxi to pick you up at the airport. Fees through less expensive local hotels are generally the same around 1,500 baht with larger resorts and international chain hotels often charging much higher.
  • Express Bus 389 travels between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Pattaya. The fare is around 125 baht per person departing every hour (from 7:00 a.m to 10:00 p.m.) to Thappraya Road except the 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 departures, which stop at the Pattaya Bus Terminal. Pay and board the bus at the Bus Lobby on Level 1 at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
  • Bell Travel Service ( operates a coach service from the airport to the Bell Travel Service office in Pattaya at North Pattaya Road. Passengers are then transferred to a van (shared basis) to their respective hotels within the service area. Boarding is also at the Bus Lobby on Level 1. Advanced online booking required and paid when boarding (fare 200 baht per person).

Don Muang Airport
Don Muang Airport ( currently handles domestic flights by
Nok Air, Orient Thai Airlines, Solar Air and Thai AirAsia and international (regional) flights by AirAsia, Indonesia AirAsia and Thai AirAsia. The easiest and most expensive way from the airport to Pattaya is to take a taxi. An economical alternatives is to go by bus via Moh Chit (Bangkok's Northern Bus Terminal).
